ESPECIALLY during his first title run?

Dude was already a great worker...but man, he was a puffy haired guy who claimed to be some great, when razor, sid, bret, taker, were all clearly more entertaining, and he had that GOD AWFUL JOSE LETHARIO running around with him...the absolute worst manager / valet / bum of all time. The heat vampire, jose lethario completely made him look like a loser.

It wasn't until the original DX run that i thought he was interesting, and even then austin and pillman was more entertaining to me....his 2nd run he was godmode, i respect that, but pre DX hbk was nothing special, and i think people are frontin like they were fans since the rockers

I was 5 years old in 1991 when this happened. When he came back swagged out I rode with him simply because he made Marty look like a jobber on this segment.

You gotta be trolling. Undertaker was a stiff for like the first 7 years of his run. Sid was as entertaining as you can be when your lifetime average match rating is like 0.2* and your promos are more remembered for hilarious live mic botches than anything else. The only good thing about Bret was his in-ring, which apparently you don't value all that highly considering you made this thread so that doesn't really make sense to me.

Taker and Sid were so entertaining that they had the worst WrestleMania main event in history. I'd rather have had HBK vs Undertaker tbh but I guess that would have been less entertaining to you?

Yeah Jose Lothario was lame and in retrospect, earnest WWF babyfaces seem corny because Vince wanted them out there giving high fives and kissing babies and shyt. But at the time, he was the coolest guy to me because he did the best moves and didn't have boring matches.

I wasn't really checking for "edgy" promos as an 8 year old, I just wanted to see awesome moves and exciting action. HBGOAT delivered. :manny:

at least hbk acted like he looked, an annoying dufus. His heel run leading to mania vs austin was actually really good. dude was an unbarable jerk

again,

this is all before his comeback...when he became a legend

i remember that stuff being weak.

sorry that he got hurt but them getting hbk out the way was the best thing that couldve happened for the wwf at the time. getting bret hart out the way was a good move as well, even tho the hart foundation stable was great. im inclined to throw the undertaker in that mix too but he was always just around and not really in the forefront.

Ratings improved significantly when Stone Cold was on top and Michaels was moved to the side. That says it all.

Yeah I'm sure glad we got all those Austin vs { Foley, Undertaker, Kane } main events in 1998 instead of Austin vs a healthy HBK. All those classic PPV's in 99 would have only been tarnished by having a guaranteed 4*+ match on them too.

outside of the rockers i don't think i ever enjoyed him as a babyface.

the character was a narcissistic pretty boy. he was always a natural heel to me.

edit: the last DX run with just him and hunter was UNBEARABLE
