You still have to have the pieces in effect for the leap to take effect. Atlanta's happened to coincide with a coaching change. Even then, those two teams spent years and missing in the lottery before they finally had the foundation in place for it to be one missing piece away from it coming altogether. Their fortunes and leaps didn't just happen overnight or in a 2-3 time frame.

As much as Memphis overachieved this year, I still don't think that they can take the next step unless they can JJJ to become the superstar that they think he can be. Same with Sacramento and how they needed Bagley to elevate them. Good guard play alone isn't enough to take you somewhere these days unless they're paid with a elite level big man or wing.
I don’t disagree but from what I’ve seen from Detroit gm, what Casey did for Blake’s one good year, Christian wood, Jerami Grant, and even Lowry/Demar when in Toronto. I trust those two snd so does Grant.

True too. It's just one of those situations that will take time and lumps for the vision to come to fruition. That's why I have been harping about how the league should give Houston (for losing Harden), Detroit and Orlando the top 3 picks to give them some semblance of a foundation centerpiece to start rebuilding.

Going by previous history and new lottery odds, 1-2 teams in the bottom half of the lottery will jump into the top 3 and fukk over other talent needy teams in the process.

Ehh. Missing Murray and Barton for half the series hurt them. Harris was always hurt and his production was way down

I think they 11th/12 this time but if you ever fukk with tankathon, I’ve done rolls where them/pelicans jump into the top three before

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I can't remember a circumstance where a team outside of the top 10 managed to make that type of leap in the lottery. Usually 10th-14th manage to remain the same before the fukkery starts.

I'm fully expecting the league to compensate Houston for losing Harden with the #1 pick as they've done with other teams who lost stars previously.

New odds can allow for it
I just did a mock lotto and the pacers jump ten spots for third in it

Naw, the coach is a good developmental coach but a bad X's and O's coach. Bol Bol should be playing this series if for nothing else but keeping the Clippers from freely attacking the rim.

Because it’s easier to just repeat what everyone else says
He hasn’t been a bad defender objectively for two seasons. He’s been better than most at his position in terms of team defense and not being a runway lane like some of the others in the league.

What happened to Gary Harris’ offense? He should be a 18-20ppg type but I routinely saw him scoring single digits…I know he had some injuries at one point…
