Id go as far as to say its one of the greatest albums ever made, I've been listening to it for 15 years now.

One of the first CDs I ever bought, i was like in 6th or 7th grade. I think i copped Wutang Forever that year too but my dad threw it away.

Yea i had a similar experience. No Way Out was one of the CD's that got me into rap also. I remember my pops finding all my cds and throwing them away. I convinced him to let me get them out the garbage and at least sell them at the record store. I never sold any of them, i outsmarted my pops as a kid. And now someday my kids will do sh*t behind my back, lie to me about it and ill probably be dumb enough to believe them :sadcam:

if you don't know automatically the song and the rapper when i say "ran outta ammo and started throwin bottles" then you probably take it in the butt on the humble. :takedat:.

Great thread except for when it briefly devolved into yet another Jay-Z/Nas argument. How does this stuff happen? Anyway....

I'd say it's a really good album, I can't call it a classic but there's no shame in being a really good album. As far as their dad making them throw it out, I ad a similar experience. I ordered Ready to Die from BMG, my dad saw the box in the mail and opened it, listened to it while he was completely drunk, and told me to get rid of it. I told him I'd mail it back, taped the box up, threw it in the mailbox, and proceeded to dig it back out the next morning on my way to school.

Fcuk my dad.

It took FOREVER for this album to drop - there were constant delays. First single dropped in early January, album dropped in July I think.

No Way Out was recorded for the album but didn't make the cut so they threw it on the soundtrack.

"Ran out of ammo and started throwing bottles" is one of my top 5 favorite lines ever.

It was. In fact, I let somebody barrow that from me when it dropped in 97, and she never gave it back to me LOL. So when people do that, you know the album was dope.

It's a great album and I made a thread about it before on here with a poll. I always have a tough time rating it because it was like the 4th album I ever bought with my own cash...and big just died. It has 2 classic songs with victory and I'll be missing you. Can't nobody hold me down was already out for a while, but you can count that as well.

At the very least it's a solid solid album...to dismiss it as trash is almost disrespectful IMO
