Low key Quake II single player is maybe the GOAT single player FPS ever

Idk of a game in the genre outside of HALFLIFE 1 that made you soak in that you were fukkED...that you were in an alien space station full of BEASTS made to kill humanity and your homies were all dead...the "space marine" feel was really captures...and the look of the enemies, lighting, npcs of marines experimented on begging for help....id never got the acclaim it deserved for this masterpiece....shyt got so intense at the end...

That feeling you got when you had no health and heard "TRESSPASSER" or worse...heard a pipebomb land to you

I don't know about single player. but it's the GOAT Multiplayer.. game kept me in the house for an entire Summer.. Me and Brother were in Clans n everything.



Kept me out of trouble.

I can only say that it was this when the fps clicked for me. Wolfenstein was dope. Quake 3 is the best quake. Doom is godly too. Actually having objectives that were multi-tiered like Goldeneye and Perfect Dark were a great change and why I rank them higher.

The First Unreal( before the whole tourney thing ) was great. I never got to truly experience the game because my box was only 233Mhz with like a 4 or 8meg video card......lol

edit: I think I had a pentium 166 and one of the cheaper voodoo cards

the thing I remember about Wolfenstein was pushing every wall looking for secrets. I remember finding the pacman shyt

The series held me down for 15 years.. from 98 until around this past feb.

Never had better online gaming experiences than I did playing ctf on quake 2 or ra3 on quake 3.

If my death adder hadn't kicked the bucket, I'd get on quake live right now just for the nostalgia.
