In the US KOF was shytted on by SF,MK, the VS series,Soul Blade/Calibur Tekken most of the times it was the chinese kids on KOF and the Americans on everything else.
I always messed with SNK games going back to Fatal Fury and Art of fighting but in terms of popularity Capcom always ruled the arcades here. For some reason I enjoyed KOF 13 more than SSF4 AE

I gotta ride with KOF on this one. SF will always have the nostalgia feel and laid the blueprint for a lot of the fighting games we play to this day but as far as characters, story and game mechanics, I'll take kof.

I liked their generic black boxing dude. I always thought Heavy D was underused and underated. He was way less embarassing than c00nin' ass balrog. K is pretty cool too.
There really isn't and I challenge you to find a year they had releases at the same time and SNK had the better game. It doesn't exist. Even now; KOFXII was maybe the most dissapointing game I've ever played and I REALLY WANTED that to be a tier zero game but it was slow and awful.
At no point was it better. Capcom vs. SNK 2compared to SNK vs. Capcom
