Let's be serious if Strong doesn't win at least 8 games, they will fire him and hire Herman... I'm conflicted, I love Strong but that Cal lost had me :snoop::patrice:
That Cal loss still has a bad taste in my mouth it was about to be a blow out before Swoopes over threw 6'6 Collin Johnson

How many games have the Horns just let slip away under Strong? At least it wasn't the offense this time... I have a bad feeling agaisnt Ok St I'll admit :snoop:

Hopefully things come together and I'm willing to wait and see

It's a great job no doubt but it's not a blueblood program like Bama or anything. I personally think they should curb their expectations. I could really see LSU ending up like the Vols for few years after this fire.

The in state recruiting classes between Tennessee and Louisiana aren't close. LSU can get virtually anyone in state because of Louisiana culture alone

Yes. I was hoping we got him over Brady Hoke to be honest, thats the year LSU and Bama were going at it for the Title I think.
So I don't look badly as Les as others.
That said I love the Harbaugh hire and I'm good with him now, when he leaves in 4 -5 years though if there are no clear front runners I wouldn't mind him as a place holder
I think it's possible for a coach to outstay his welcome. You guys dodged a bullet... If LSU wasn't a strong contender for the BCS game Mile was gone to Michigan that year... but you are so much better off with Harbaugh now.

Its easy to say that now for you, but I would have much rather have a 9 - 10 win Les with his crazy clock management but excellent recruiting and excellent defense over Hoke and his bullshyt, especially coming off Rich rod and his even worse shyt.

Knowing what happened to Michigan after Lloyd, and seeing what happened to my dad's Vols after Fulmer, I think you have to recognize that it can get worse that what you have and it isn't a guarantee that your next hire is gonna keep things going or elevate you.

like I said before in another thread, LSU recruiting wise has ABSOLUTELY NO COMPETITION in Louisiana.

ULL? :heh:

ULM? :heh:

Louisiana Tech? :heh:

Tulane? :heh:

Southern? :heh:

Grambling? :heh:

States like Texas, Florida, and California have a ton of competition. shyt, the entire BIG XII mainly recruits from 1 state [Texas] :heh:

That is a hell of a Job for a Coach. you can stumble into a top 10 class every year because most of the kids in that state worship LSU football.

The main reason LSU is a top 10 job is because of the in-state talent in Louisiana that LSU has all to themselves. So LSU fans & media have every right to have same expectations for LSU as other Blue Blood programs.
