I love the inversion of the cheating heel with the Worldwide Underground. When the stakes are high, they probably could individually win on skill - but they try to be slick, and end up shooting themselves in the foot. It's such a clever team dynamic.

Damn, I've had a bit of time away from LU and have watched the last 6 or 7 weeks (still got one to go) in the last couple of nights. HOLY fukk. Everything's been said in this thread already, but this is one of the best shows on TV right now... forget just in wrestling terms, it's one of the best shows out there right now PERIOD.
Is there some fukked-up ultra dark Pentagon, Undead Prince Puma and Vampiro fukkery incoming?!

LU is the only promotion for the last 15 years to show Rey Mysterio's true talents. I honestly thought he was a bit shyt in WWE, but having seen LU and now having gone back to his older work, I can see it's just WWE's typically shyt latino and small-guy booking that fukked him up. Same with Chavo tbh... it took me a while to warm to him in LU because he was so dull in WWE, but their Loser Leaves Lucha match was a fukking masterclass and the booking only elevated it - lovely Dusty finish. I love that Cueto isn't just ALL bad... he has a lot in common with the Believers and is known to give them what they want as much as he's known for shytting on fan-favourite wrestlers. Makes it much easier to buy into him as a character rather than being a strictly heel or strictly face authority figure.
Vampiro and Matt Striker are the best duo in the game and you're a liar if you say otherwise. Vampiro can be creepy as shyt with women in the ring, but overall their selling of the LU mythos and the way they DON'T get to see the cut-scenes really makes it feel like they're witnessing everything with you, not just presenting it to you.
Pentagon is the best tweener I've ever seen. Genuinely fukking EVIL but impossible not to keep a place in your fukked up heart for him. The HOH gauntlet extravaganza was something ELSE. Perfect booking to make him look strong as hell, but then have him absolutely annihilated making the Chines-Triads-From-Tokyo
look ruthless and bringing Dragon Azteca Jr back into the action.
Have I ever mentioned how Drago's mask is fukking EVERYTHING?
Matanza might be half the size of a WWE "monster" but he's got twice the emotional impact.
