I finally watched this video. He’s should get off on something light. You don’t know what words were exchanged here and he was fighting for his life. Easy to judge from a distance but in that moment there was a lot going on.

The current anti crime climate will lean in his favor if he can prove he was being threatened when he attacked that guy then got jumped.

He initiated the physical contact and that's when the other guys came in and jumped him. They're probably saying the other guys were defending their friend and Chaka started shooting after the altercation was broken up so he could have walked away. He shot first so whoever shot him can claim self defense
