oh, THREE POINT SHOOTER. because...he was not a bad shooter. he is actually a much better shooter within the arc than Luka...
defense, he focused on defensive rebounds and the paint but yeah, he wasn't a good on ball defender

… which is the issue ppl always overlook: basketball isn’t 1on1, it’s 5on5 with double teams, zones, PnRs, etc., a lot of moving parts.
The advantage Luka has in 5on5 is he actually could hunt Barkley every time down, whereas Barkley’s playstyle (and 90s playstyle in general) wasn’t mismatch hunting. He’d beat up/destroy whoever Luka’s 4 and 5s are

The nba only started tracking shot location in 1996-97 but according to bballreference, Doncic is a better mid range shooter too, so that's also not true.
Barkley did get a lot of defensive rebounds, so we can't discount that, but he was a terrible man and a help defender and was criticized his entire career for his lack of effort.
