Zion Williamson is the closest thing to Prime Charles Barkley and for some who is old enough to see his Philly Days is that Charles was essentially unstoppable within 15 feet of the basket and a very good midrange player. He often took on players taller than him but he was extremely dense in terms of his musculature, he basically had the strength of a 7 foot wrestler packed into that frame on top of a great vertical that made him an elite rebounder.

Luka is great but Luka would have to play some defense and he would get flopped around in the interior now the one thing Luka has is conserably more range so the question is can Luka for Charles to work for the midrange shots while not tiring himself out affecting his shot.

I think luka cooks him in terms of the game itself
1on1 its probably Barkley, I cant see Luka stopping him

but in a game situation chuck has to work way harder to drop 40 than Luka
Suns were nice but I dont see anyone on that team stopping Luka, maybe as a team they beat Lukas teams but Stat wise Luka is pretty safe

like FTBS said, 1 on 1 comes down to who misses first and Luka's making all types of hard ass shots . Its really a good matchup. Chuck plays hard as fukk and you cant just treat him like a slouch, he's everywhere and pretty good at everything. Luka would frustrate him and Charles is gonna start playing mad hard, reaching and putting his weight into it. People that are younger arent gonna realize Charles is mad fast actually. He's 100% faster than Luka, maybe prime barkley does body him actually if he can contest those shots good enough.

Prime Chuck was almost like a Zion Williamson with actual post skills.Really, he could do it all on offense.Mid post, low post, high post, elbows, face up, step back, 3's, whatever.If winner takes ball, it depends who gets possession first.I don't think neither one could stop each other on defense.


And that's pretty much older Chuck when he was starting to lose his athleticism.

That's why these convos are so asinine. Young people today are so quick to shyt on 90s players. Jordan would be Demar Derozan today when Kobe played a decade ago, and Kawhi/SGA/Ant are playing now. Barkley couldn't play today yet, Zion is playing and Barkley was Zion 1.0. If Barkley was born in 2003 instead of 1963, he'd have a bit more handles and be more of a downhill player. And none of these nikkas would be stopping him.
