Winning the MVP and championship means Shai has had the better career if they both stopped playing today.

But they were both drafted in 2018 and Luka has been the better player overall the duration of their careers.

Shai can go a long way to putting some distance between he and Luka if he turns OKC into a multi-time champion. He the real deal and he's the better defender but his defense is overstated. Luka's game is more explosive and Luka is more of a floor raiser.

If they ended today, put Shai ahead by a hair, but Luka has more consistently been an MVP-level player, and Luka has twice led late round playoff runs, to Shai's one. Anybody saying it should easily be considered Shai, is tripping. I'd be inclined to rank Luka slightly ahead for the fact he's been the better player throughout their careers, and I'd put Tatum over Shai too if both they careers ended today.

And I agree, its time to accelerate the conversation about these present era guys.
