Riley didnt let Lebron run wild like everyone else does

So in LeBron's first stretch, Gilbert let LeBron "run wild"? What move did LeBron make during his first seven-year stretch that caused the Cavs to suck after he left? :sas1::sas2:

And when LeBron joined the Cavs, this was their lineup:

Kyrie
Dion Waiters
Luol Deng
Tristan Thompson
Anderson Varejao
Brendan Haywood
Delly
Anthony Bennett
#1 pick that could become Weedplate Wiggins or Kevin Love

Considering that the Cavs traded Kyrie without LeBron's input and for assets LeBron didn't want and that didn't help him, exactly how did LeBron leave that group in "shambles"? Which one of those players that was there when LeBron got there do you wish was still there now? What had the Cavs done in the previous four years that convinced you they were a smart team that would make great draft moves and acquire quality free agents which would make them any better than they are now?

Sans the ring, of course.

I'm surprised there isn't more buzz around Ettore Messina.

74% lifetime record as a head coach

EuroLeague Coach of the Year twice and known as one of the greatest international coaches ever

Already connected to the Lakers before when he was a consultant to Mike Brown during his Lakers stint.

Working under Pop so that the Pop genius can rub off on him.

Unlike David Blatt he came here and has spent the last 3+ years as an NBA assistant so that he can understand NBA culture and player development, and learning management under a no-nonsense guy like Pop too. He got to work with Duncan, TP, Ginobli, Kawhi, DeRozen, LaMarcus, so he's had plenty experience dealing with stars.

Is known as a ball movement-and-defense coach, which is what this team needs. They're the kind of high-IQ team that could pick up Euro-style principles too. Known as a player development guy too which could help BI and whoever else is left after the trades.

I don't know who else is available....poaching Doc from the Clippers? Maybe Jeff van Gundy?

Stfu. He ain’t black. The only white that can coach bron is Jeff or Pop.

"basketball reasons"

:deadmanny:

Yall stay sounding like some old ass cacs :bryan:

How. All we saying is that basketball was not the top reason.

1. Family. Kids.
2. Hollywood/Movie Business
3. Way more girls. Yes bron be doing whatever he wants.
4. Lakers.

That’s not a guy that came to LA for basketball reasons.

Those are well established dudes. He would take Phil before the posse shyt to. That E nikka mans mention is Blatt 2.0

Nah. Blatt came straight from overseas and knew nothing about handling NBA players. He was supposed to come over as an assistant for the Warriors or something before the Cavs offered him a head coaching job.

Messina's been way smarter about it. He's been around NBA teams since 2011, been studying under Pop on the Spurs since 2014. That's an established four years as an NBA assistant and working with the best. He knows how to handle NBA players now and he understands the NBA culture and system.

I'm not saying he's a sure thing. No one available is. But he's set up a lot better than Blatt was and has a better coaching pedigree than anyone else out there who doesn't already have a head coaching job.

edit: Also, Blatt had good systems but the wrong personnel to run them (Dion/JR/Tristan/Shump were not smart ball movement guys and Kyrie needed more convincing to buy in at that stage in his career), but he didn't adopt the gravitas to get guys to follow the game plan. Between Bron, Ingram, Ball, Lance, and whatever new stars they pick up/trade for, I think the Lakers have more guys who could run a smart ball movement system and they look eager to make it happen.

I been telling these punk ass pissy Laker fans that Lebron’s move there has nothing to do with actual basketball. Dude is there for brand building and nothing more.

he'll be setting the franchise back years in the process. buncha 1st or 2nd round playoff exits to GSW.
