Those are seperate charges- he could be cleared of the murder charge but still catch a seperate charge for illegal gun possession. Those are 2 seperate and apart offenses unless there’s corroborating circumstances in that gun being being used in a previous shooting incident/ murder. Defense lawyer could say that any one of them could have been shot regardless of who was holding or could be a case where the prosecuting attorney could say if he didn’t have a gun Von wouldn’t have been shot but that’s complicated by the fact the other two kids on Von’s side were shot .
