What's funny is that today after the Kendrick fiasco that's been blowing up online, I was having a debate on my facebook timeline about who's better Kendrick or Lupe. I said when Lupe's motivated Lupe >>>

But that was before this track came out

:snoop:

I just posted the link in that status cause this is the shyt I'm talking about. I love this nikka Lupe, but cotdayum... the internet is going nuts over Kendrick's verse and you drop this shyt in the mist of all that?

:dahell:

I can't defend this nikka anymore

:to: Kendrick is basically the poor man's version of what I hoped Lupe would one day become...basically something approximating Nas' role as that mainstream crown holder for lyricism and creative concepts...he actually had it going for a lil while, around the time of The Cool he was growing into being kinda the Nas to Wayne's Jay far as that mid-late 2000s class went...then Lasers and all the fukkery happened and he's not quite been the same since...there's been samples of vintage Lupe brillance (Double Burger with Cheese...OMG WTF WWJD), but I think I've made my peace with the fact that it's pretty much over for that vision I had for Lupe...he's never gonna find that balance between lyricism/creativity and musicality that can compete with the big dogs of contemporary rap like K Dot has (which has him poised to be the Nas to Drake's Jay)...sadly Lupe is likely to get weirder and wacker as he fades to obscurity and eventually quits rap...because his heart wasn't really in the game like that

Pawgs with dragons
I fukk with the joint:yeshrug:

shyt isn't anywhere near vintage Lupe, I'm sure that's why most people arent rocking with the shyt; and admittedly dudes with his ability have a responsibility to make top shelf material imo, but I still kinda like this joint.
I have small gripes with the direction he's taken his lyricism, but my biggest issue with Lupe for a long time now has been his delivery. How does he sound like a nerd nowadays but didn't on his Revenge of the Nerds tape?:skip: Then he'll throw a southern twang on his shyt randomly for no reason. You're from Chicago, nikka:dahell: Lupe's flow and delivery used to be on par or better than anyone in the game. The guy is a genius, he can destroy anybody with the lyrics, but unless he's genuinely been trolling us for years, this dude has lost everything else that made him the dude I used to unashamedly stan since the mid 2000s.

My issue is that the dude can put out this literally a few months ago...

And then the next time we hear him, he's rappin' over some Sesame Street beat spellin' shyt out in every verse
