ya'll know what?
We can mos def help Lupe out with this project
That track Selfdom, the one about selling your body on the internet
if we all tweet that song to Mia Khalifa we could start a trend.
Mika Khalifa is a pornstar who left porn and is now trending on twitter saying the people who own the porn companies are all bad shytty dangerous people

My favorite Lupe is the alien wordplay, work magic with words Lupe, but I fux with this little project. He was more in his Nas bag on here, every song sounds like something I could imagine Nas doing. My favorite is "dinosaurs", especially coupled with that intro, fire. I'd say 4 out of 5, makes me ready af for a full album

That dinosaurs track is like a parody of my criticisms of him. Trash, over wrought song completely bogged down by a ridiculous concept/metaphor that is just asinine. I can't imagine listening to this shyt and being impressed or enjoying it. It's 2020 fam, stop doing this shyt.

:wow:

But nah Lupe gotta stay in this pocket for at least one or two songs on whatever full albums he drops next. Him over the Robert Glasper and now the Kaelin Ellis jazz piano sounds are some of his best moments.

smh,

The fam and I listened to it while driving to big sur.

it landed nicely

:ehh:

I love Dinosaurs.

Hip Hop fans are the most rigid and stuck in their ways fans to me. It's why the genre is so slow to move forward in terms of subject material and even sonically. Most fans only wanna hear raps based around materialism, violence, the streets, misogyny, or the struggle. Even conscious rap fans, just in a way that doesn't glorify those things. It's been an issue I've had with the culture for years.

Dude immaculately rapped for 4 minutes. Perfect flow, insane production, effortlessly sharp rhyme schemes, creativity on max, and yet people saying it's trash and a parody. Hip hop fans are narrow and rigid and this is really just a reflection of how black people can be as well. We're so used to our oppression that sometimes it feels like it's the only thing we're comfortable in, even with our art.

I want bangers about healthy eating, financial responsibility, actually respecting women and sure why not dinosaurs too? Board games we grew up on, fictional planets. So yeah I fukk with this Dinosaur shyt. shyt ain't never been done. The game desperately lacks balance and progress and it's why I don't consider myself a rap fan anymore and why many are fed up with the genre. shyt isn't going anywhere interesting and it becomes more and more corny to me to dance and bop our heads to the theme songs of our self destruction :manny:

I don't like rap anymore. I like certain rappers. I'll come outta my hole when Lupe, Kendrick, Joey, etc drop and then I go back to my hole and wait for something to interest me while I listen to black music that is actually fresh and progressive lol.

Oh don’t get me wrong, I fukk with Dinosaurs it’s a really fun track. Especially when you take the tape in context for what it is, which is just lyrical exercise of mostly freestyled raps

But I ain’t gonna knock a casual fan walking blind into this and being perplexed :mjlol:
it was one dude on YouTube pissed about Down. Dude said there’s no way he could play that for anybody trying to get into Lupe Fiasco
Down is super wavy tho (pun intended). That track got too much sauce:wow:

But again, I ain’t gon be surprised if casual listeners randomly listen to the hook like :dahell:
