there's more to raps than just metaphors. lupe can drop shyt that you have to decipher. kendrick is more up front. he has more perspective and storytelling capability. jay got more BARS than nas, but nas is still the better lyricist. lupe can go over the top sometimes when it's not needed. lupe got bars that make you think twice. kendrick has SONGS that make you think twice. kendrick creates whole albums that you gotta dissect to fully understand. they're both gifted in different ways. it just depends which style you prefer. Either way I think the top 3 lyricists are elzhi, lupe, and kendrick.

Might wanna listen to Lupe Fiasco's The Cool.

It executes everything you just listed at an extremely high level while being critically acclaimed, socially relevant, radio friendly, influential, and housing a platinum hit single.

Honestly i think Kendricks Peak is where Lupe is at now.
