Hes just a big dissapointment...he couldve been a goat contender, because when he came out, he was a fukkin problem....F&L and The Cool the Fahrenheit mixtapes were all great to me...then he just started putting out whack music. The lyirical ability is there, but it doesnt translate into good music.

Lupe? Overrated?

Unlike Kendrick stans, if Lupe fans don't like a Lupe song, they don't listen to it a million times to try and force themselves.

Bar for bar, Lupe's catalog is killing Kendrick's. And Lupe's worst song is better than that bullshyt single Kdot just released. But let these new nikkas tell it, Kendrick is the savior of hip-hop.

So who's really overrated?

That Laser fiasco was the end of Lu's incomparable chapter:yeshrug:

...but Food&Liquor 2 made me a a Lu believer again, until he drop'd that Ty Dolla single:what:

At this point, maybe.

He's still better than 99.95% of rappers out there though as far as lyrics and delivery goes though. That really speaks to the climate that we're in.

I like his joints wit Ty $ though. Looks like he's trying to make another push.

I have never enjoyed a Lupe song outside of "Superstar" and I have never meet anyone who plays Lupe's music in my life.

As someone who skateboarded as a teen, "Kick Push" to me was beyond lame and gimmicky as hell to find a niche in a social group he thought would back him when he had no real knowledge of the dynamics in play of the skateboarding sub-culture.

As already stated in this thread Lupe Fiasco was just ahead of his time. He debuted in a time that wasnt ready for a dude of his talent. The bars this guy spit back in the early 2000s and even now can't be matched by any MC that came after him. Not to mention the first FNF mixtapes he dropped are probably hands down the most lyrically advanced mixtapes of any rapper, prime Wayne included.

He's also a true songwriter, and has structure and concepts unique to him that many others lack, in creativity. His first 2 albums were ahead of their times in that aspect. Also great production (back then, thanks to in-house producers)

He excels in storytelling beyond anyone post 2006, flow diversity (nikka got a lot of flows), wordplay/entendre game is unmatched, multis, etc.

For the lane that he once ruled is now overtaken by Kendrick Lamar, Kendrick wouldnt have thrived in that 2005-2008 environment like Lupe.

Sure he's fallen off on the making music part 2011 and onwards (until Tetsuo Season :wow:) but to try and discredit his work from 2010 backwards is crazy.

Especially by putting lame ass Eminem over him :comeon:

Lupe has a good project? I like to support Chicago rappers more than anybody but holy fukk Lupe is lame.
You do realize that your avi is a Curren$y album right ? A dude that got dropped from arguably the weakest labels in the industry and has been struggling wit his poverty tapes every since.
