But that album cover????
The album is not a reflection of the cover
You see that cover you expect something underground magnifficient
But dude singing too much
I'm a huge Lupe fan, probably top 6 Lupe Fan at the Coli.
I understand the Amy Winehouse angle
But I want a hard Lupe album!!!

Gonna let this digest, a lot of the songs aren’t grabbing me right away but when it comes to Lupe it’s usually one track that gets a hold of me for a week or two then I kinda form a relationship with a different song.

I love Lupe Fiasco, but this album ain’t it.
Not even because son ain’t spittin, because he is.
But even with the Jazzy beats, the album just feels.. SOULLESS?!
And Lupe needs to stop these mumble half-effort sing songy hooks too, it’s just lazy.
It just feels like he approached the album too “formulaic”.
Even though that’s an inaccurate description because there’s a formula to rap/Hiphop.
But this SAMURAI album feels damn near robotic to me.
Bigfoot prolly my favorite song on the album.
It feels the most natural/organic sounding song me, even though he went offbeat a couple times tryna cramp in too many words a couple bars.
Samurai is extremely bland, it lacks seasoning..

love his originality and the beats are tuff...not sure about the monotone hooks on every joint but i like the project on first listen. i did repeat palaces a few times

Album on first listen is very solid though.
Corniest concept ever.
