Lupe Fiasco - SLR3 (Royce Diss)

I love Lupe.

I like Royce.

Imho, some of Lupes' bars were nerd-corny but he had some decent disses. A few knockout attempts. Beat is empty trash.

Royce's 'song' was a lot better. The beat was better, his flow was varied and in pocket. It lacked the knockout diss bars but it seemed to be the 'feeling eachother out' portion of the boxing match, first round type shyt.

I think I look at bars in a different way, though. As most applaud unnecessarily technical bars, I am of the school of thought that simpler, poignant bars delivered through exceptional flow is better.

I.e. An extreme example being the average K Rino bar vs a Nas bar on the same subject

Just my opinion, but I'm here for both!

This jumped off because Lux, being the genius that he is felt like Royce was looking to draw Lupe out and see how he'd behave in this situation. Now Royce says that wasn't true and I believe him, but if he wasn't then, he is NOW.

Whatever 'friendship' they have goes out the window once certain lines are crossed, I'm gonna assume talking shyt about Chill being one of them.

I have no idea why they mad but it seems royce is mad at someone on a yearly. Lupe served him up so far, royce better come back down t o earth and spit something decent.

To be fair, this the first time I've seen Lupe in a back and forth, it was a good first effort, but it's not as if it was a life altering diss. And I don't believe the talent gap between the two is that large. I don't think he'll kill Lupe, but I think there's definitely things he can say to Lupe that will make Lupe look crazy if he does it right.

There’s plenty of ammo to use against Lupe. He just has to do it in an engaging way. Plus he need to get out of his emotions and focus.

Royce said a whole lot of nothing on his track and Lupe was surgical. How quickly Lupe responded just adds to how easy he made that look. Royce either has to go as hard as possible at this point or just bow out.

I like this break down I feel the same way. Royce came in from a distance, guard up, threw alot of jabs and simple combinations but didnt really press forward and kept his distance. Lupe came in, a little more pumped up, and got off some wild hooks and a few crosses. The body blows landed and he caught royce on the chin once but royce isnt all the way out - YET. First round def goes to Lupe for me, 2nd round either becomes a full on slugfest or Lupe goes in for the kill. Who knows whats gonna happen next.
