Two completely different styles of lyricism. One is more poetic & abstract and the other is more rippity rap & agressive. But I personally perfer Lupe because he's one of the few highly technically proficient MC's who has great subject matter to match.

I got love for both. Like @B-Mint94 said Lupe is more poetic and abstract. He makes me THINK more. Dude is a legit genius in my book. Ill roll with Lupe here but Royce is def near the top of my list too. He does things that Lupe can't. I love his energy and aggression on the Mic. I don't get that with Lu. Both special in there own ways

i'm a fan of both, but my gut is going with Royce 
Lupe Fiasco, I don't think its too close either.
Royce da 5'9" is far more aggressive, but I just enjoy the breadth of Lupe Fiasco's music.
From his early drug dealing music veiled in brilliant metaphors, to his more heavily political work as he grew more mainstream, to his incredibly dense lyrical style that pops in and out of every work he releases.
I'm biased though
