Lol Lupe put Hov in a body bag. 2nd verse wasn't even needed but he did it anyway :wow:

"It's hella proper, sag so low you can see boxer, like a boxer's
That's the way that the family's pants worn

Don't be sly, and try to put 'em on
The stones in the pocket'll drag ya down to Davy Jones' locker"

That wordplay, the triple entendre on "sly":wow:

Jay Z's entendre's on that track made Lupe look like his son. Lupe would take that as a compliment so i don't know why Lu fans can't accept it :manny:

Also

Sag so low you can see boxer.... LIKE A BOXER :mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:

And you nikkas try to shyt on kendrick :francis:

He's missing the highs because of nostalgia and reputation alone. I'll put T&Y and TC against either of their best stuff.

And song for song career wise I would definitely put Lupe against any of their best stuff.

Bar for bar lyric for lyric I'm putting Lupe above both of their stuff.
:tochilol:
So Illmatic is only better than any Lupe album because of nostalgia? :tochilol:

Even on RD, Volume 1, 2, and 3 Jay had questionable moments.

When you're speaking on lyrics and bar for bar I can't really think of anyone competing with Lu. And everyone talking about Lu can't make songs is full of it. Dude is a great songwriter. They're favorite rapper couldn't make a song as good as Adoration of the magi, American terrorist, the cool, put you on game, Audubon ballroom, or all black everything.
RD had questionable moments? :dwillhuh:
:tochilol:At that list of songs.

Take Care is a better piece of music than any Lupe album and definitely has classic songs, moments, tours, and features. Just a bigger release for the culture on all fronts.

Don't make this shyt about Drake... :francis:

Y'all nikkas always bring up these Lupe songs nobody cares about. F&L was good not great. The Cool was good not great. My original claim was Lupe lacks the quotables, voice, flow, charisma to even be mentioned with Nas and Jay even if y'all like to say he's a hybrid of both. The Coli is the only place I see Lupe put at a pedestal like this.
I disagree about Take Care being better than any Lupe album. I think F&L was a great album, it didn't hold up that well, but at the time I thought Lupe had next.
I remember the Cool being a step down and more "alternative" sounding. I haven't listened to it in years though.

Lupe is amazing on the mic, but wasn't able to translate it to a classic album. And he's too complicated for his own good. He doesn't have the ability to consistently take complicated ideas and present them in a simple fashion. His rapping is too "academic" in that regard.
