Audubon Ballroom should be his next single in my opinion

That song is underrated over here, the hook and the song has a positive message, its catchy, and it has mainstream appeal. Battle Scars is killing it overseas by the way.

Of course, Lupe ain't, as per se, a "singles rapper" though.

I think Super Cold from FOTP would've been a better "Bonus" closer than Go To Sleep.

Everywhere
In the studio writing these words, one after another
In memorial of my brother
As you listen to the album with
Nothing on the cover
I imagine that he hovers
In the back of his chair
Floating right there in the air
Knodding his head to the music, I slightly lose it
Ask why do I put myself through this
Crack a smile, look up at the file
The waveforms on the screen of me tryna tell you what I mean
But I feel that it's all lost, or maybe that it's all gotta cross
Happy with his dedicated song
But now he's all gone
But he was never there, cause
He was everywhere, nowhere and down here
Maybe on that judgement day, rise up
We'll both open our eyes up, climb up
Hoping God forgives us for our tendencies
Wipes away our cool young histories

My only grip with the album is the production lacks replay value towards the end. Its an album I can't see myself listening to in the whip repeatedly more so just with the headphones around the crib or at the gym.

1st half bangs though

After my 10th listen, I wanna say I feel that there's not a single bad song on the album - Battle Scars included. It's the weakest record but I can't say it's bad. I feel for a single and a hip hop/pop fusion that's as strong as you can possibly get. Plus me and the first love are going through some shyt right now so those lyrics hit your boy hard :wow:

Also, stop sleeping on Heart Donor and give it a chance. Trust me.

Audobon Ballroom is dope, but the hook is so important to the theme of the song. Could you really imagine a single where the word "nikka" is bleeped out two times on the hook like that? What would it be replaced with? "We're not negros?" lol

I think the next single should be How Dare You.

I just like to mention that the weed references on Form Follows Function is :ohlawd:
nikka used a quadruple entendre :wow:

No lie fam.

I think Super Cold from FOTP would've been a better "Bonus" closer than Go To Sleep.

Super Cold doesn't use original production so Lupe would've gotten sued something serious if he put it on F&L II.

1st half bangs though

I feel you on this one. It's the first thing I confirmed after my first listen. First half is where all the "whip bangers" are while the second half is all chilled out and mellow with the exception of Brave Heart and Hood Now which ends the album with a nice feel-good BANG.

I've grown to really appreciate the pace and cohesion of the album though. I like that the first half is bangers because it, when combined with Lupe's lyrics and themes, firmly grabs hold of your attention. Then with the next half you're already fully engaged and taking into the smooth and subtle vibes of songs like How Dare You and Cold War with Brave Heart and Hood Now sprinkled in there to give you that adrenaline shot the second half needed.

Hope you get what I'm saying here.
