Well, we can't put all the blame on Halle because her character in the movies wasn't written well. Unless the writers/producers develop Storm's character it really doesn't matter who plays her.

But a huge part of the blame does go to Halle because she acted about as well as 7th grader in a middle school play. No real emotion

Black Widow has only recently seen a spike a popularity due to her recent film appearances and even now she still isn't as easily recognizable as Storm, she's getting up there though.

Rogue....just no.

Jean Grey........that's arguable but she doesn't have quite the same media presence as Storm does.

This aint even taking into account the fact black folks don't read comics like that,but we still know storm from the cartoon....add those numbers in and its Storm by a landslide....Ms Marvel and Black Widow? if you didn't have a role in a cartoon you not as well known as Storm

-Apocalypse will look shytty.
-Important characters wont shine and it will be the WOlverine featuring Gambit and Mystique show(sorry unknown actor who will play Cyclops)
-shytty costumes for all still outside of Magneto
-More shytty writing now that they know they can make it alright with fans by using time travel to cover up the bullshyt

Folks are just running with the idea like she's confirmed for the role. It's a rumor, but it'd be good. One thing that intrigues me is whether her being in the next Star Wars (which Disney owns along with Marvel, I believe) would interfere with her playing a character in a franchise that Fox owns.

Does it really matter?
Storm is one of the weakest and lamest characters in the X-men comics as it is.

It would be interesting if they announced that a storyline around Sinister or something like that.
The Sentinels could have been such a bigger story than it was in "Days of Future Past"...and it really deserved an entire trilogy to be honest. Same with the Phoenix saga.

I'm curious where they are going regarding Apocalypse though.
