Lying on your resume or lying to get a job, anyone done it before?

You see, in the case of something like this, you can fire off that resume and spend a few hours running tutorials on Excel.
Lying about something you can easily learn is way different from, say, claiming to be familiar with Database management.

nah breh, some of them things in excel, you need to know what the hell your doing, there can be super complex equations that you need to do for instances.

i agree on DM though

Most jobs really aint doing any type of real background check. I lie about my criminal record everytime.. As most of my shyt has been sealed and/or expunged anyway..

Really depends on what youre applying for.. Government jobs, they will most likely find out..
Well its not really lying if your record is expunged/sealed. I did some stupid shyt as a teen that I got some community service for and a night in juvie for. It was sealed after 5 years and I've never mentioned it. Thats the supposed reward of having your record sealed so you don't have to mention it at job interviews or on applications.

Though you're right about government jobs, especially jobs where there is a security clearance requirement. I knew a dude who was an MP at a nuclear weapon facility and had to get a top secret clearance. He didn't hear back until like 6 months that he was accepted but only afterwards did he hear from like old friends and family that they came asking about him :merchant:. Said they even spoke to his gym teacher from middle school and this dude was in his 30s.

So If I ever apply to a job that requires a security clearance I've decided I'll just be straight up about what happened in my teens. My record was sealed and I read that for security clearances they can get access to it or if they need it for anything related to national security.

Well I guess it depends mostly on what the job requirements are. The extent of most of the usage I saw working in a multi-million dollar joint last year was to punch in numbers and organize

low-level accounting shyt. Most times I see excel as a requirement, I don't imagine it to be the edge-cases where you are using the most complex algorithms. For that kinda shyt, my job had

proprietary software:huhldup:It was a nightmare. That said, I would only say I am competent, not advanced in excel by any means. That isn't to say most people couldn't find their way through

it given enough time and probably an internet search.

I tried that shyt to get a job at Burlington Coat Factory and some how, some way the manager worked as a manager at my old job long after I stopped going....

She comes down to meet me after my first interview and the first thing she says is "You worked at Sears?????"

I'm like:jawalrus:

Then she says "I was store manager there until 2012 :comeon:" (I stopped working there in 2008 and had it on my resume like I worked there until it closed)

I'm like :dame:

Then she started asked me about people that worked there, that I actually knew... So I'm thinkin:pachaha:

I was flawless until she gave me the:wtb:

Told me she didn't remember me again the interview was over... Didn't get the job even though I did work there and answered about 95% of the questions correctly:beli:

I avoid Burlington Coat Factory to this day:huhldup:

Yeah, don't lie to them @BrothaZay.
As far as criminal records go.

Agreed. Most organizations try toto use exceL as a database, which it isn't. They be better setting one up than using a big ass excel spreadsheet

Or just use Access.
This. Learned access in HS and hated it. Having worked for some pretty big companies, though, they all had proprietary solutions so I never even got to use Access.
:mjlol: I feel u tho, gotta sell urself the best u can
:yeshrug:Whatever it takes. Of course I never made a habit of lying about some shyt (which undoubtedly cost me some opportunities) but man, any little experience
has to be flipped into a positive that you can offer to the employer. If you gotta reach a bit, make that shyt happen. Google means whatever you aren't familiar with, you
can catch the fukk up between the first call back and the start date.

No excuses. Getting a job requires its own skills. I'm trying to transition into a career now so I gotta spin bigger-league tales:russ:
