No...i already explained to u that the Takeoff verse has flow. Its not lyrical....Its elementary like a motherfukker.

I'm not rejecting shyt. I'm judging based on the bar thats been set way before Migos came in the game.

You are implying that I dont like Migos and my judgement towards them is based on that and u are dead wrong.

I just might pull out my Fisker, you p*ssy I see your Whiskas
Call up the plug no Santa, but he sending trees of gas for Christmas

Dude , the flow is there but those lines are mediocre as fukk. :francis:

Kind of like these lines:

If my bread stops the lead pops
I'll curl my finger on the hair trigger to twist the top of your head like dreadlocks
Your spirit flys into the ASTROS once your head drops.
You dancing on the land mine that'll turn your WHITE SOX into RED SOX

To cut a long story short, the gist of the argument is that hip hop is generally in the crapper awaiting a flushing.

Spending 8 hours writing rhymes are probably why the most lyrical cats aren't the best emcees.

maybe if they spent more time working on their voice, flow and delivery:martin:.

coming up with something that sounds lyrical is easy as shyt, coming up with a classic verse that fans will memorize and know word for word for years to come is the true art of lyricism:wow:

:mjpls:

Its funny u say that because there are no Migos albums that get that "classic" lable on the level of Illmatic , Ready To Die , Paid In Full , Cuban Linx or Liquid swords.

Those classics are simply on the level they are based on the fact NY at that moment in time was the epicenter of hiphop media, and controlled the narrative. Those classics are only on a high level to a certain demographic of people who love lyricism or from the east, except for Illmatic in hindsight. You forget that internet hipsters control the narrative now,as well as whatever the south says is hot, usually comes to fruition. To another generation I'm sure they have their own classics they see on that level. Seems like GRODT is looked at as one of those. Hmmmm, what do you know,a nikka who wasn't all that lyrical and without much of a flow, who is somehow seen as more lyrical and more of an emcee than Migos based on his birthplace and mature/aggresive content:sas1:

I agree with you though, without mature content,Migos don't have much of a chance,if they want to be around as long as Jay-z like they said, they better learn to sprinkle some substance in on a few tracks per album.

The flash in the pan artists can give a fukk about lyrics, and its been like that forever...however, the artists who have staying power/longevity can all rap...a lyrical rapper may not have number 1 singles but they make up for it with a die hard fanbase and long careers...cole is a good example - i don't necessarily love his records/albums but i have no doubt he'll be around in 10 years....kendrick is also on top bc he spits...jay has been here 20+ cuz he can really rap...same goes for just about every legend in the game

Making a song isn't rocket science. There are a lot of great Hip Hop songs that are lyrical that didn't take long to write.

There's a reason why Jay, Pac, Biggie and Nas are top tier. They found the balance between being lyrical yet the songwriting didn't suffer. There's also a degree of them being effortless in their approach as opposed to it being forced.

15 minutes though :mindblown:

Let's put this in perspective: By the time The Walking Dead is over you have maybe 1/3 of an album done :mjlol:
