STRINGER: What are the options when you got an inferior product in an aggressive marketplace?
LUCAS: Well, if you have a large share of the market, you can buy up the competition.

STRINGER: And if you don't?
LUCAS: Reduce price to increase market share.
STRINGER: That assumes low overhead.
LUCAS: Of course, otherwise, you operate at a loss, and worse, as your prices drop, your product eventually loses consumer credibility.
:ohhh: they can't change the name, can't release new product, so now they're trying to buy IP's and studios. How long do you give the xbox department?

That's not macroeconomics though :patrice:
We also have to realize that Microsoft is a technology conglomerate. It can take a loss because its efficiently diversified.

As long as Windows is on PCs that division can operate at a loss all they want.
:feedme: teach me how. If they stop generating money, credibility and those fixed costs stay the same or grow as they have to invest, somethings gonna have to change, no matter how much cash you make :patrice:
Evolution is the next step, but they just released the product :patrice:

TYRONE GA!
No one wants to keep dead weight around. Xbox is no where close to MS bread and butter. It'll get :camby: sooner rather than later.
