In my dealings with M80 he has been legit and actually hooked me up with major discounts on rare albums.

I bought his book and I'm waiting for it.

He's controversial. He also has legit high end legal education.

If he is indeed speaking the truth - the facts are great to know.

If what he's saying is true about Killah Priest yes that's disappointing. I wish I didn't even hear it.

But there's alot of stories where rappers don't blow up and earn alot.

He talks about dropped rappers struggling.

This is all important to know. Because I have seen it in my experience in the industry.

That's why I work in the field of law full time which funds my record label.

Rappers are to prideful to build 9-5s. That's partly why Dame is in massive debt.

I notice in many of these cases these guys buy their way into the circle of older rappers who may need cash. Or they start out offering cheap beats, cheap studio time etc before trying to become "business partners" and then the fukkery starts.

I tjink ghost got 6 figures plus for that dumb big ghost album he didnt even write or do. In book it goes over how rza was shocked over how much m80 got ghosy because the daga continues album was about the same and an actual wu album

If he can get them a 6 figure check, theyll work with him and play nice. The album will be 1 taked, written and rapped in a week. Half assed.

But apprently ugod (MY GUY) never did and rza dont work with him anymore. The rest have done features at most, while cap and ghost have done albums. Ugod just happy he getting caps career working.

Ghost will work with anyone if moneys right. All those side projects aint ghost albums. 12 reasons on…. All bullshyt. Ghost literally dgaf. Hes taking all checks.

All of them heads. 60. . Warcloud. C rayz walz. Canibus. Agallah. Chino xl, all have reps. Theres a fight on wucorp right now between 2 producers saying m80 sold them exclusive rights… each. His beef with multi record labels is over fine print saying they got the ghostface lost tapes remixes and not the real album type thing. He has producers remix it so he basically gets 2 albums for price of 1.

But noone else paying them minus rap features from nobodies. so they gotta take the money. Most of them aint making shyt n get lucky here and there. Like bronze caught a big check from apple for think differently beat on wu meets indie. That was m80s first anr job. Given to him by rza n dreddy. Rza wont work with him anymore tho unless its a HUGE check. He stole dreddys job (by way of dreddy doing bad b.i.) and put out the super inferior vol 2 of wu meets indy.

Apparently canibus chose hvac over rapping with youtube nobodies for bread.

This is why I would never want to work in the rap business. Most of these rappers are still moving on some grimy street shyt and don't have their business in order so they end up having to work with vultures like M80 because he brings in money they couldn't get on their own.

Minus the self promotion and leaving out his own shady dealings I'm sure most of what he said is true. Ghost getting asked to do a joint album with Priest but wanting all the budget I can believe because Ghost famously didn't want to pay Divine his 10 or 20% fee for a deal he brokered. That's someone in his own crew.

I don't think I've ever listened to any project this guy put together. It's low grade music from washed up artists. How he's even able to get these budgets is beyond me. Paying your hard earned money for a Killah Priest or Canibus album is crazy.

It's some of their own that have screwed them the most honestly. Deck's manager is one of their boys from Staten Island they've brought along and he's shady as shyt with his dealings (hint: breaches of contract). Some of them went and got actual management like Rae, Ghost and Meth. When I worked on dates for Rae when he was repped by ICM, everything was professional and most importantly LEGAL ... Deck and Masta Killa are both still with Wood Johnson and he's not exactly helping either one of their careers flourish

I too have the download. I bought the paperback because it's controversial, and the third book from someone I somewhat know. I appreciate almost anyone who publishes their own book.

It's good that you're looking at it on an overview level.

I'm going to read it and see what's up.
