I mean, she was told not to go. Can't fault her for avoiding the mess. She obviously has something she cares about, and the AfroPunk audience cares aboutsomething else (Black issues.) It doesn't necessarily reflect poorly on her to pull out of something that she is at odds with, especially if people shyt on her presence when she
gets there. This frees up space for someone more sympathetic to a black issue to stand up.

She wants Black folks to campaign on behalf of Muslims, prioritizing it with Black issues...but she won't challenge anti-black racism within Islam, or even recognize Black Muslims.
All these ppl expect Black people to do all the social justice heavy lifting, and then hook their wagons on to our movements. And then have the audacity to be outraged when we refuse to expend our time, labour, and organizing power to advocate for ppl who have more privilege than we do.
She's trash. And I'm glad her true colors are showing.
