I Know there's a lot of Azalea banks fans here
yes there are, check her album thread and see fo yaself

But how do you compare her to MIA, who's talent and creative direction do you prefer more?

For myself, I Definitely liked Azalea's debut album, and a mixtape she had wasn't bad either

However never had a MIA album I didn't like, and her creative direction is quite unique.

Thoughts?

I love Banks music, but M.I.A. is just :banderas:. Just the whole tone of her music, her production, her creativity. She's kind of like FKA Twigs in the sense that their music is just not something most people would normally vibe with because it's out there. They don't sound like everyone else. Neither does AB's music, but you can see where she pulls her influence from (90s house) and I can see someone trying to jack her style and trying to make it work. I can't see someone doing that with M.I.A.

Would you see most people fukking with something like Double Bubble Trouble? Can anyone but M.I.A. take that beat switch and make it sound that hot? First time I ever heard Bird Flu I was like :wtf:. By the second listen I was

. The only MIA album I didn't like was Maya. Her last release is my favorite after Kala (her best album imo) and I still play it all the time.

AB's lyrics>> > but M.I.A.'s music overall>>>

I will say both AB and MIA's music doesn't get old to me.

theyre both trash

fixed. When M.I.A. first came out (was it Arular?), I was shocked that people actually liked such clusterfukk music. I haven't heard it since then.

To give MIA props, I feel like she started this fusion-rap throw-different-genre-sounds-at- a-wall and see-what sticks shyt.

Though only one of them has "Paper Planes", which was the most gangsta record of its year. Which coincidentally tells you just how shytty hip hop was in 2007
