There's 2 sides to this and they both valid. Did anyone else offer Mase more than Puffy at the time? What guarantee was there that he would have blown up if he signed with someone else? That was just the nature of the music business back then and to an extent now. It's super hard to go indy and blow up, you going against a whole lubricated machine.
