132k in 3 years is kinda wild.
With those muscles and a college degree he’d be making 4x more delivering basketballs clothes with FedEx :mjlol:

Probably has some solid endorsement deals though, and obviously he just signed a new deal right?

Nah. ESPN on some clickbait shyt. He’s made more than that. He’s on a 2 way 2 million dollar contract right now, which should pay him a little over $500,000 for next season.

Have they paid it yet though?

That articles mentions the potential value of his latest deal not what he’s made or is making.

I believe ESPN, SI, and sportrac know what they are talking about :jbhmm:

he's doing himself a disservice not playing overseas. that g-league money is chump change.
He would essentially be throwing away the dunk contest opportunities. Also going overseas would lose his connections to the NBA. He’s not good enough to play overseas & get another NBA look.

Money wise & realistically you’re right tho

Norfeast groovin…
lol speaks to how watered down ASW has been in this era. But yall right, he should be taking contracts all over international basketball. A brief stint in China, a brief stint in Europe, and a brief stint in Australia will have him on Mac the Global Cac status :russ:

When stars were in the tournament, shyt these AND1 mixtape guys like McClung do in their sleep would get you a lifetime achievement award :camby:

Dudes were doing normal in game dunks and getting top scores :mjlol:
Trying to do something advanced and failing out and shyt.

These "amateurs" like McClung that live for this shyt practice these things over the whole year, of course if the pro's did that too they would likely also deliver on this level. But they didn't.

My bad. Meant to say he was previously on a 1 year 2 million contract. Currently on a 2 way that pays him over 500,000 per year. ESPN was misleading some.
According to Sports Illustrated's Ryan Phillips, a two-way deal gives players half of the salary of the rookie minimum. This would have McClung making an estimated salary of $578,577, much less than the guard earned during the 2023-24 NBA season.

at this point, he's not likely to get another NBA opportunity. might as well get paid while he can in one of the euro leagues.

Yep. Turned down millions to ball in China. Not a smart decision. Need to go ahead and do that

I would assume he has some nice ones. Seen him in Puma commercials and shyt you only see guys in the league with a name in.

I don’t think I’ve watched a G-league game since it was the D league. But I don’t understand how the MVP of the G-league can’t even be get a few minutes in the league. If the difference is that big, they should at least limit the time in which people can spend there so that they go on with their lives.

Time is now tbh, what's he gonna do with a 4th Dunk Contest title? Better take his ass to Europe and cash out. He still young enough where he can put in 10 years out there. He gave it a try here and couldn't stick, no shame in that

that's easy for y'all to say but he's not going there probably for the same reason Isaiah Thomas didn't: he wants to stay here. At a certain point he may have no choice, but you gotta be mentally built for the reality of never hooping in the states. Some are more equipped to deal with that than others.

in other words, you don't want the G League to exist.

If you're a bucket getter in the G League, the NBA isn't gonna ask you to do that. All NBA coaches want is for those guys to know the system and contribute in other ways. Most NBA players some time or another were bucket getters wherever they were, so a G Leaguer doing that doesn't wow them unless they see him having a long term future.
