One of my favorite rappers from the Tank. Even though this came out when No Limit was losing momentum to Cash Money, This still banged out and Mac started coming to more of his own as a artist. Production Wise Shell Shocked is better but I believe Lyrically this album was better.

this was better than shell shocked. SS had better beats but alot of them sound like they werent done with him in mind. that good ole '98 no limit factory output. lol.

while im at it, fiend's street life was better than the red case.

no limit '99 was just as good as cash money '99. i give cash money the nod off the strength of guerrilla warfare tho.

The only critical difference in the long term success of No Limit and CMB was P had acts like this who were grown men ready to be successful in the rap game now while baby had artists who were young and he kept adding younger talent.

P had a Miami Heat win now team while Baby had that GSW squad that was up and coming with younger talent.

MAC was destined to lead the Tank before he got locked. His debut album is solid.

P wasnt in the business of making stars aside from his sons - silkk & romeo.........no diss to silkk. P was probably his legal guardian out west.
more importantly, no limit was indy and most of this was on P's dime.

cash money wouldve had universal pushing mac's albums.
..........then again, theres a strong chance that baby wouldve had mac dressing up wayne while playing the back.

People forget master p made silkk that dude, silkk was popular with the females. That shocker album :ohlawd:

P hustle his ass of and made things happen for him and his family from richmond to new orleans.

Real cousious street rap from a hood point of view

"I'm deep in the game I can't sleep at night
And mommy praying cause she know her boy ain't living right
And when I die they say I'm going out in gunsmoke
Cause I refuse to be broke up in this ghetto"

REAL RAP.

and yea, if he put at least half as much effort into the b-team and started passing the torch circa '99(and made it official by '01), no limit wouldve outlasted cash money. cuz truth be told, cash money hasnt been anything.great since 2000.

i dont think P had the long-term vision like birdman. i dont think P really cared by that point anyway. hes just back now with this new campaign cuz some of his other ventures fell sour. he shouldve delegated people like KLC to run more of the label stuff.

5 years later, and with me revisiting some NL stuff from 99, and this is 100% false :mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol: World War III is was dope though. I remember it being good back then, and I have fresh ears for it right now, and it still sounds good. Mac was really nice and it sucks he got caught up like he did. He was good enough to be a breakout guy on another label, or at least a guy consistently releases quality projects for a long time. WWIII was one of the few good No Limit releases in 1999.
