I wished P would've focused more on MAC, Samm, and D.I.G. than he did. MAC could've been a star given how he had the hook of two of No Limit's biggest songs in 2000 ("Wobble, Wobble" and "He Did That"). MAC's verses always stood out. Had he been pushed, he could've been huge. I mean, look at "I Can Tell", which wasn't a single. He had "Callin' Me" off WWIII, which could've been big if edited. Also "Like Before" or even "Best Friends".

5 years later, and with me revisiting some NL stuff from 99, and this is 100% false :mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol: World War III is was dope though. I remember it doing good back then, and I have fresh ears for it right now, and it still sounds good. Mac was really nice and it sucks he got caught up like he did. He was good enough to be a breakout guy on another label, or at least a good consistently releases quality projects for a long time. WWIII was one of the few good No Limit releases in 1999.

I wanted to bring this up in the No Limit thread, but I feel its appropriate here. CMR had a huge 1999, but by 2000, they had drastically declined to the point that it could be argued No Limit was bigger and was putting out better music (aside from maybe Ghetto Postage), but looking at these releases:

504 Boyz Goodfellas
C-Murder Trapped In Crime
Master P Ghetto Postage
Snoop Dogg- Last Meal
Mr Marcelo Brick Livin

Vs.

Big Tymers I Got That Work
Cash Money Millionaires Baller Blockin
B.G. Checkmate
Lil Wayne- Lights Out

Overall, who put out the better music that year?

Cant speak on Brick Livin, but Ghetto Postage and Ballers were garbage. Last Meal was dope though, and Trapped In Crime has some gems on it. Think those first 3 CMR albums were nice, especially B.G.’s. Lights Out was cool, but something was off about it, can’t really explain it. Maybe cause I just liked Juve and B.G. nor than Wayne.
