I don't think it's stupid. I don't support it, because to me the whole thing seems like swindling people out of their money, calling them investors and whatever when we all know damn well there is no ROI on a $1000 vinyl, let alone a digital download. But I do believe him and Fahim and others made big money that way, and invested it instead to make more. Imagine you have a fan base of a couple hundred to maybe a couple thousands who are willing to spend 100's if not 1000's on single pieces of merchandise. All the while building up this image of mystique, ready to capitalize the moment Griselda got big enough (not suggesting he isn't genuinely down with WSG). While you won't see me spending 100's on Mach merchandise, I respect the way he did it. He perfected the blueprint for independent artists imo (a blueprint that was created by others obviously).

Edit: And with the lyrics, he was right too imo. Genius said they got a deal with the major labels and they all get a piece. Mach being independent doesn't, so he said fukk that, I'm not letting these nerds fukk up my lyrics for free. Thus adding to his image of mystique as well.

Then he could just do it on his own site so he can make sure the lyrics don’t get fukked up

I even remember this one interview he did along west side gun where he came off hella cocky talking about people should be tuned in he is the culture and how him and West never had beef. Most phony shyt I ever seen lol.

This guy paid attention and it seems to have worked out.

And from I've read btw, the beef with WSG was mostly with Fahim, and Mach chose to ride with him. Don't think it was ever that personal. But yeah, those interviews weren't all that, especially with that a$$hole Elliot Wilson, can't stand dude.

You have a point, he is making money so it is what it is.

As for the beef it was with Fahim. I believe the issue was West didn't want to embrace Fahim like that, only Mach so that created a separation. Another issue was he took a song he did with Conway and leaked it so that also created beef between them as well. I feel the interview wasn't all that cause they were being phony. For instance it's clear some tension was there even if it wasn't that serious at the time but they choose to lie about it.
