I disagree respectfully breh and I get why you say what you say. Imo he has a style where he can interlace different types of subject matter really well but that's not what I mean by substance. However he doesn't speak about anything with real depth or passion and to those who will try to compare him to Doom he is not on the same level conceptually and Doom did what Mach does better than him. He has no song like my favorite ladies or an album like mmm food or operation dooms day and he isn't as witty or funny. They are just different artist.I think Mach has a lot of substance
I think sometimes it can get lost in the coded lyrics or the monotone voice, but I’ve always thought he had a pretty broad scope of subject matter.
In fact this take is kind of the opposite from what I think. And I love Benny. But I wish he’d actually do more personal and introspective songs.
At the end of the day it really comes down to preference. I guess I just prefer Benny cause on projects like Tana talk 3 you feel like you're really with him on the block the way he is spitting that shyt. The shyt is super vivid when he spits lines like I played the stoop with the tool in the bushes. When you listen to a verse like the one Benny laid on Crowns for Kings that shyt is damn near flawless. Dude said the judge give you life and later that day he gonna be playing golf, that shyt really hits. Cmon Mach don't got any verses like that imo or any verses that hit in the same way. With that said with Mach working with West I wonder if their is gonna be some kind of competition and if it pushes everyone to work even harder. This shyt could lead to some more great music so I'm looking forward to that and pray for Haiti is dope, no denying that.
