Shouts to everyone in this thread I upset because I didn't give fukking Macklemore an ATTABOY for trying to kick weed and give him props for two of the lamest singles to ever come out of Hip Hop

its not about pills, weed, or whatever drug it is, but the behaviors behind it. the compulsive, obsessive behaviors. ppl like mclemore cant just chill and have a beer or smoke a little. sure he has a drug of choice (i think oxys he said) but its really about the compulsive behaviors behind his drug use. its hard to explain i guess. i grew up with an addict in my immediate family. shyt is rough and i wouldnt wish it on anyone. regardless of his music and how you feel about it, he has a massive cross to bare in addiction.

he is a cornball though ill give you guys that.

he also looks like roger klotz from doug

He smoked weed and popped a few zannys and nikkas is feeling bad for him? Are you fukking serious... Coming from a dude who pushes the gay agenda in hip hop... Hmmm. Then you have corny dudes saying oh y'all hating... What??! This is just another gimmick for him to use and exploit to sell records. Nobody in hip hop truly give a fukk about Macklemore.

@NerdBird I agree with you in spirit, but i dont think its a manuver to sell records. the dudes been struggling with addiction for most of his life. even before he blew he wrote and talked about struggling to stay clean

Dude was a rehab junkie, it's a bit different.

Also I would say 3 hit wonder, two of which were #1 in several countries.

Also he hasn't released anything new yet, so until then I wouldn't call him any type of wonder.

I gained respect for him as a person (not a rapper), dude is super huge and was riding harder for all the police brutality and shyt going on than most rappers. And he's white and from fukking Seattle, he seems like a good dude unlike most of my favourite rappers.
I WILL SAY THIS. Mack has gone harder against Police Brutality and White Privilege than some tap-dancing Black rappers have. Mack even had a song called White Privilege about...........................White privilege. BUT-BUT-BUT-on the other hand, Mack's White privilege, has given him the leway to be THAT political. The Whites upon hearing Mack say "Police Brutality is F'd up, and White Privilege is real" will probably be like "Wellllll, Mack said it, so I believe it, as opposed to that race-baiter Kendrick saying it". But overall, I do respect the heck out of Macklemore. He's down for the Blacks, and isn't afraid to be political and call out White Supremacy, unlike alot of Black artist. I don't listen to Mack's music, but I respect him as a man. He's a respectable White dude in my book.

:salute:

Yeah, I guess you can say that. Or were you being sarcastic? In that case, I don't think he is obligated to pander. He has a large enough White fanbase, where I don't think he needs Black folks. And even then, alot of Black folks aren't even SUPER Pro-Black, and alot of them who are Mack fans probably won't stop supporting him, if he stayed quiet on issues like Police Brutality and White Privilege.

tbh Macklemore is too politically correct, white, mature, and old to be respected in hip hop.

He's a good guy

He's smart enough to realize a large portion of his fan base are social justice warriors
