They are 70% of the population...they by default buy more records and attend more shows. Not only are they the majority of the fans but they control distribution side and promotion as well....The sheer fact that Eminem put a ceiling on all CAC rappers and Macklemore made it despite that is unbelievable breh


I'm not a fan of his music or message but let's not act like we don't have a monopoly on this rap shyt.

I can't even name 10 succesful white rappers in a majority white country

We don't have a monopoly on shyt. Because we don't control the game. Macklemore was pushed outside of rap circles again he didn't make it despite anything he made it by skipping over black audiences all together. By the time hip hop knew who macklemore was he was multi plat.

I reiterate my point. Theybusiness behind rap will abuse CAC privilege to make white artists successful when they choose to. Then categorize them as rap despite having given them a pop push and audience in that market first, rejecting the "urban" audience. They knew if tried to break macklemore with all the other rappers in the same circle he would not fair as well.

Having the most performers in rap be black does not constitute a monopoly because they don't hold any significant power over the business side.

If black people had a monopoly on rap as you say then there would be no fear of loss of the control of the art form because they could dictate what goes and who is involved. As it stands they are just employees in the system not the owners but they generate the wealth via creative output hence the problems...

so let me get this right.....white record labels gave black rappers distribution and promotion to a majority white market for over 30 + years. They made these guys millions by selling millions of records to the same majority white audience ...yet as soon as a white rapper caters to that very audience a couple years down the line and gets support it's a problem.... even though there's 100 plat black rappers and 5 white rappers at best ?
