Macklemore is what Lupe should have been.

Career, success wise. Anyone else feels this way? I'm not saying lupe is a bum, he's been pretty successful as a hip-hop artist, just not what he should have been capable imo. The whole lazers fallout really crippled his image somewhat then Kendrick completely overshadowed dude. Now he's just kinda in limbo. He had sparks of it early in his career with superstar and again with the show goes on, but I don't think he had that real big hit the likes of thrift shop. I don't think he could have gotten away with a song like thrift shop even if he wanted. I feel he could have been that big mainstream dude if he never passed up nothing on you.

Kick, Push was a pretty popular song that got a lot of people into Lupe. Not internet viral big but it was everywhere.

Thrift Shop is Macklemore's Kick, Push. If he does better with it than Lupe did then more power to him.

Personally, I've never checked for Lupe and to this day, I still hate that stupid Kick, Push song.
