I think Em was just being him and spoke to the disgruntled white youth. There were millions of Eminem's across america who listen to rap but never had an artist rap about what they related to and looked like them. (think about how many C@C's you know always talkin about killing their moms ) Plus he was seen as a troll the way he made fun of pop stars so I can see white people loving him.

But Macklemore makes music SPECIFICALLY for white liberal hipsters.
