If you're just finishing season 2, there's plenty of good TV left as far as Dexter goes. First four seasons are seeing any show ever, but the quality does dip after that. That said, it's still an enjoyable watch.

Why?

I just finished season 5 and thoroughly enjoyed it. They gave you know who the proper goodbye and I thought Lumen was awesome. I mean granted I don't know how joey quinn dropped 80 pounds when Michael C Hall was the one with cancer at the time, but season 5 was easily, hands down better than season 3

Now season 6 you got this tom hanks looking dude, you got Dexter at his high school reunion killing every scene, so why the hate? Am I missing a reason to hate because I watched 5 seasons in 4 weeks?

The show was always building up to Deb finding out who Dexter really is and that was the ultimate copout to drag the series on longer. She should have seen him at the scene in the season 5 finale and season 6 should have been the last season of the show where they had the fallout. They've been milking the show for too long because it was Showtime's first big hit.

Season 8 is hurting my soul. I find myself having to force myself to watch the next episode. Once I start watching, I can remain engaged, but damn. I just watched episode 7 of this season and it ends with the neighbor. I won't say more than that but I'm not even hyped for the next episode. After something like that, with a show like this usually I can't wait to see what happens next. With this season I don't even care. The fukking psycologist bores me to tears. She was so intrumental in the creation of the greatest serial killer in history and we are just hearing about her now?
