The story was awesome. The world was bland with not much to do outside of story missions.​

That's a Mafia franchise staple unfortunately.
Dead world that entices you to do nothing else other than keep playing the story unless you searching for collectables/achievements.​

Well the other games were more linear like Uncharted. With 3 they decided to go open world

2 was Open world too if I recall correctly. I own 3 in some respects but never got around to really playing it so I can't speak on it, but just the fact that you've a game of that type with absolutely NOTHING to do in it, in this day and age, is just so assanine and lazy.​

He may be talking about the free roam mode. It was technically “open world” in that way.

I personally want it to flop out of pure spite for the reception Mafia 3 received. We all know why that game is so hated, when IMO it has the best story of the entire series and the sharpest gunplay.

I don’t care what anyone says I fukking loved 3. The story, soundtrack and setting were great. Every once in a while I’m tempted to do another play through.

Isn't that open world? Or open world enough?
Not arguing, I'm askin', mind you.
Because I always had open world to be the absence of timers or limitations in which you could roam and do as you like, albiet in a VERY limited capacity in this situation since the world open to you is rather dead.
Arguing semantics, I'd say they made 2 that way so you didn't have to go out of game to "Free Roam" like you could in the first, so it was technically open world in the basest of senses.​

After see the gameplay, I'm not sure how I feel about this. It seems this will be their worst Mafia.

Looks like a run of the mill action adventure game with a Godfather 2 skin. shyt is becoming the norm for 2K.

Tennis game on ps + I played made by them was barebones with every intent made to get you to buy VC

I'm sure this is another barebones game with the intent to fool people based off the name recognition of the franchise
