You mean well. You do. Even at your worst. So why do I say the things I say even though I know you mean well? Because many times I'm a piece of shyt, but I never profess to be a good person.
You can be annoying and overbearing when a particular cause invades you like a rapidly spreading infectious disease but I don't think you're being malicious with those behaviors. I think you are passionate about politics (and medicine) and I think you have an odd (in my opinion) optimism in the American political system.
Now, I don't believe that comes from a place of naivete. You seem politically astute. You understand the American condition. You know that while some may call your country, Haiti, a shythole country; at least there you are around your people and can get some fresh air. When you and your family left the "shythole" and climbed further up into the anus and all the way into the impacted and diseases bowels and digestive tract of a diseased, obese illiterate, you reached America. We are the shyt, literally. You understand that.
You also believe that with the right amount of doctoring and medicine this diseased GI tract can be cleansed. I get it. It's in your soul. That revolutionary Haitian spirit. I mean, that so called "shythole country" overthrew the most powerful colonial empire at the PEAK of their power during the PEAK of slavery; surely America with all of her institutions and processes can overcome? No.....no we cannot.
Surely we can elect a competent President, right? Nah, we could at one time but I think we might be beyond that now.
Well surely if the incompetent President is entangled in international intrigue a thorough investigation should be enough to turn the public against him as he resigns in disgrace? Nah, we're too stupid and indifferent for that, too many moving parts.
Well surely you can IMPEACH and REMOVE this guy, RIGHT???!!!!! I mean we can START that process because the right political party was in control of the part of the legislature that handles that but the actual removal won't happen because the wrong political party handles that.

I got bad news for you fam.....Capitalism. I mean technically we can throw money at the problem if by that you mean giving rich people more money.......Look breh, America is sick. Since you're a researcher I'm assuming you should understand chronic, debilitating conditions. America can't get up to go to the bathroom and shyts the bed......a lot. Sometimes we can make it to the bathroom but by then the entire load is in our drawers. Sometimes we might get half the load in the toilet. And on rare occasions......just a skidmark. Hallelujah, we saved our drawls.
Now, you seem to look at these realities as defeatist/defeatism and package them up as right wing talking points, which you consider a lot of things because you hate them the way I hate cheese. But these aren't right wing talking points, it's just reality. Yes, we should strive to do the right thing, even if defeat is inevitable like the Impeachment. But pointing out the reality that being on the right side of history does not necessarily mean that history will come to pass does not make me your opposition. You seem to think so and you react to that as if you've been personally insulted. I think that's my only issue with you.
So why my constant barrage of disproportionately mean spirited posts? Well, I'm a piece of shyt. But, when I disagree with you on certain things it's not because I'm opposing the totality of your idea or opinion, many times it's just to interject the unfortunate reality of where we are. A reality you understand but choose to combat. In a way, I'd say that's admirable. Be blessed.
PS I'm on Adderall. Will our roles return to normal once we sober up? Time will tell.
TLDR; you're alright just temper your expectations of what is possible in such a horrible country. And I'm nice because I'm feeling the effects of prescription drugs.
