I swear, some of y'all are always giving whites the benefit of the doubt, as if 400 years of their evil isnt more than enough proof to hammer it into your heads that everything they do is driven by a relentless hatred of black people. You really think white America wanted a black President for benevolent reasons.
Due respect, but I think this gives white people too much credit. Think about white people; they're obviously not all masterminds. Trump voters are proof of that.
I think that many white Obama voters felt good about themselves. They could vote for an articulate, clean cut black

and feel like they weren't racist because they supported the black dude. It's just like that joke in Get Out where Bradley Whitford's crazy racist ass keeps talking about how he would have voted for Obama for a third term if he could because that made him feel like he wasn't racist even though he was literally chopping black folks up.
White people do stuff like that because they, like the society they built, are focused on what it does for
them, not what it does to black people. Obviously, some voters, like Trump voters, vote because they think that it will outwardly hurt black folks, but white Obama voters get a rush out of being "post-racial" because that makes them feel good about themselves, not from some plan to trick black folks.
