According to my calculations - 10.2% of Brexit voters are no longer alive as of 2023

I've many times heard that public opinion in the UK has swung against brexit in recent years but heard conflicting things about whether this is due to Brexit voters changing their minds or older brexiteers passing away. As a bit of a data nerd, I thought I would do that maths.
I used ONS data for England and Wales only - Scottish and Northern Irish data is collected seperately but both voted to remain. I came up with this figure by splitting the population of England and Wales into age groups multiplying by the turnout in each age group and then multiplying again by the percentage that voted for Brexit in each group giving the exsact number of brexiteers for each age group. I then found the annual number of deaths for each age group since 2017 and adjusted again for turnout and the propensity to vote brexit in each age group. This is what I found
Since 2016 10.2%[±0.4] of Brexit voters have died
This amounts to 1.59% average per year
If nobody changed their minds and turnout was the same any referendum held after 2018 would have resulted in a remain victory
The likelyhood of a person to vote for Brexit doesn't change significantly after age 50. Even in the over 65+ age group, 40% voted to remain. Therefore the success of any rejoin movements will have the biggest impact if it can change the minds of people in their 50s.
[Please note this is just a statistical exercise I found intresting - I am not by any means celebrating people dying or advocating for an immediate second referendum]

Every time I hear "the market was over inflated anyway..." from these people I can't help but laugh. They use that as a cop out to protect their daddy Trump's stupid decisions and market tanking. How about...the market was just fine. Stocks were moving along nicely over the last 4 years, no goofy market shocks or stupid policies causing alarm. And Trump came in and tanked it all for his massive ego. Not to mention market manipulation and insider trading.

No the sham economy has been going on for about 15 years now. Pure speculation is driving up prices when the actual numbers never match up. It is entirely unsustainable - only Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren have talked about this before. This destruction is not the way to address that issue though

No one who is retirement age is worse off long term, because of these few months of loss. If you’ve been working for 30 years and left your money in the market then you’ve made over 200% return on your money. Just pull up a chart of the Dow or the S&P for the last 10, 20, or 30 years. All green. This is performative and slanted reporting .
they are worse off because healthcare will be way more expensive. those same people will get hit up by family members looking for financial help too. this will cost them every which way.
