but for real, Bird and Magic were fukking INSULATED by those teams and clearly being "placed" there paid off in then end. They were the bridge to bringing the NBA mainstream after the NBA/ABA "merger" so it makes sense they landed where they did. You take the league's historically marquee teams and built them up with fresh legs
