Curry is a better shooter, better ballhandler, better penetrator and layup package on drives, better defender of other point guards.

Magic is the better passer, better rebounder, better scorer out of the post, better defender of bigger players.

It's a weird argument because their skill sets are so different that they barely play the same position. It's easier to compare Curry to shooting guards than to compare him to point guards, and even harder to compare him to Magic who was a weird-ass point guard almost to the point of being a point forward (cause he didn't break guys down off the dribble and didn't defend point guards on the other end).

Overall as players, Magic has the better argument for GOAT career because of his MVPs and Finals MVPs. But it's entirely subjective to speak on who the better player is.
Better = most impactful and that’s Magic. Basketball is not tennis.

Regular season wins do not tell you a whole story about a team. Those Dame Blazers or Harden Rockets were bad in the playoffs.

It don't take much effort to beat a James Harden team. He even does that job for you. That gimmicky basketball, to get free throws, only works in regular season. That's why Harden had no success going to the finals as a leader.
Idk what you think about James harden, imma say his rockets clear the 1987 Warriors and Nuggets but that’s just me

As great as Steph is I just can't call him the GOAT PG, let alone even put him in the top 5 of PG's ever. He lacks something that makes it hard to call him the goat of anything outside of 3-point shooting and being the greatest Warrior in franchise history.

I feel like this Steph vs. Magic thing is a forced narrative used to make Steph the GOAT of something and in this case, it's being a PG. Since he's not in the same league as Jordan or LeBron in terms of being inserted into the GOAT (period) conversation the media and Warriors fans are trying to rewrite history to big up Curry.
Not having Steph in the top 5 PGs ever is just laughable

The 80's and 90's were far weaker eras in terms of PGs and SGs compared to the 00s and 2010s. The top 10 from back then are nowhere near as deep as the ones from the past 20 years. Steph Curry is the best PG of the greatest era for guards, so imo he has a case. :manny:

I still say Magic based off my subjective opinion, but to act like nikkas are crazy for saying Steph might be the GOAT PG is the only crazy thing that's been said in this whole debate.

As usual, this is a meaningless post. You're just reasserting your personal opinion, backed with nothing.

Steph's impact is to bend the entire field of play to account for where he is on the court. Steph's impact is to make opponents willingly leave KD, one of the most talented scorers of all time, in mere single coverage cause it's the lesser of two evils. Steph's impact is 4 titles in 9 years and forcing every team in the league that wants a title to consider how they're going to match up with him.

I rock with Steph but Magic is on a different level compared to him. His real debate on the all time ranks is guys like Kobe.

Magic could probably do more with less but its hard for me to say any version of magic was better than 2016 steph:patrice:
2016 Steph performed like a shrimp for the money and did not win a chip

2016 Steph wasn’t even the best player in the league

Steph is impressive no doubt, now what’s Magic’s impact? Greater impact leads to more successful outcomes(chip).
