the big question is when are big time black recruits going to start playing for black schools?
can we get at least a couple top prospects in the hbcus?
could yall imagine if there was an aspire or bounce channel back when air mcnair was playing & eddie robinson was coaching in the swac?
I agree with you, but you gotta look at it from the prospect's point of view. Most HBCUs, compared to PWIs, have shytty athletic facilities and can't compare to most PWIs as far as campus amenities. I think if some of the successful alums of HBCUs were to give back and bring them up to maybe a Sun Belt, or Conference USA level, you'll see some three, four, and five star recruits go to schools like Howard, FAMU, JSU, etc. I was reading an article about the sad state of HBCU athletic programs, and Shannon Sharpe was interviewed. He graduated from Savannah State and hasn't sent a dime back to the school since he left. Compare that to Mike Vick donating to VA Tech and Ndamukong Suh giving back to Nebraska. These days HBCUs are not getting NFL caliber players unless it's somebody like Isaiah Crowell and Nu'Keese Richardson using them as a second chance after getting kicked out of their original schools. You gotta think, Steve McNair was recruited mostly as a defensive back. Alcorn was pretty much the only school that wanted him as a QB.

Not sure about why Shannon Sharpe didn't give back. I looked for the article, but couldn't find it. Actually, I don't think this is the article, but it talks about him not being in contact with anyone from the school: http://savannahnow.com/sports/2012-09-08/savannah-state-great-shannon-sharpe-says-program-tough-spotgood point.
didnt shannon sharpe have a reason for not giving back to savannah state tho?
i didnt know that about mcnair.
Them old Steve Mcnair games at Alcorn![]()

Stop making this racial; it's a infrastructure and TV time.the big question is when are big time black recruits going to start playing for black schools?

Is it just me or has Black College football fallen off recently? Maybe because I'm a FAMU fan.
I remember back in the day HBCU's used to be good and challenge for 1-AA national championships. Eddie Robinson's Tigers and Billy Joe's Gulf Coast Offense.Whose squad looking good this year?
Mann the Magic City Classic was a legit classic this year, ASU kicker missed the GW field goal and A&M won 37-36![]()

Who they playin'?they get more tv time than alot of the schools theyre attending.
lets leave division 1 out of this and just focus on division 2 or whatever. the hbcus get more airtime than all those conferences, yet theyre still amongst the lowest seeds in those championship tournaments.
If two little schools are playin' none of them are gettin' airtimewhat u mean?
