We have to make room for people like him to not only just be in society, but to just be safe and free from ridicule to their face, in society.
it's a strange condition to be overtly abnormal and not be able to pass for normal and yet be normal with regards to emotional sensitivity.
Most of us have something generally benign that we keep secret from our neighbors or co-workers, or I should say that we have the luxury of being functionally able to keep secret from our neighbors,
that we would be mortified if they ever found out
this is such a general human condition, or rather affliction,
that it is almost an existential paradigm of its own category
consider how many of us are here incognito
and it is only by virtue of being able to cover that thing up that we feel we can pass for normal AND
even still,by that virtue, feel we can ostracize someone who just can't hide something not normal about themselves
but remember the essential difference is that he can't hide his perceived abnormality while you can hide yours
to me he may look like a crazy person, and I can defend my opinion that he looks crazy
but he is harmless
so let him be, so the rest of us can just be as well
or do one better and consider what one of our poets said: look at the man in the mirror
