The big thing people are not talking about is the cost to the consumer. Subway and bus fares are relatively cheap. Maglev train is going to be a daily butt plug of an expense. You might as well transport people in helicopters.

What will the cost be?

You don't know the cost of Public Transportation in the DMV, it's anything but Cheap.
Yes I do. I used to take the Metro every day. It sucked. You got charged more during rush hour times. Parking at the Metro lots was expensive. It got to where I would park about a 1/4 mile away on off-street parking and then walk to the Metro.

I don't know. A maglev train ride from Washington to Baltimore might be $30-40 one-way.
Thats not bad considering you get there in 15 minutes. And it will help amtrak tickets get cheaper due to competition.

I agree, the fares on Acela (The closest thing to HSR in the U.S at the moment) costs like 120 bucks just to go from Philly to NYC :scust:

Still probably beats driving to Philly price wise... not sure about time though. Driving to Philly from NY and vise versa is a pain in the neck.

Acela is certainty faster than driving there, it only takes an hour to travel between NYC and Philly, where's it takes two hours to drive between NYC and Philly.

I agree, driving there can be :beli: that traffic into NYC at the Goethals and Manhattan - Jersey crossings can be :damn: best way to go there is by bus, either Greyhound or the Chinatown bus.

Chinatown bus is 20 bucks round trip Philly - NYC :banderas:
