the difference is, all those artists you mentioned can actually sing and actually perform.

timbo, missy & them didn't need aalyiah. theres a bunch of better young vocalists they could've gave those beats & verses to. they benefitted a little from aalyiah being already established and more importantly, im sure hankerson & co were more willing to throw money behind them after they saved his niece's career.

the timbo & missy connection was thru her uncle dog. they were all signed to his label after devante went awol. she didnt put them on. you acting like she was queen chit, picking producers at will, when in reality, people thought she was done without kelz. if swing mob didn't come thru, she prolly would've been hanging around the so so def offices more like she was doing earlier in the year.

missy was already buzzing heavy for her ghost-writing & guest spots before the aalyiah album even blew up. not to mention that ginuwine album dropped at the same time and overshadowed aaliyah chit, especially before the "one in a million" single dropped.

you act like aalyiah dumbed down her vocals for her tracks. in reality, the tracks were catered towards her. whenever aaliyah stepped out of her comefort zone vocally, it wasn't a good look. whether it be live or on wax. you don't necessarily have to perform live in order to be exposed as a shabby singer. lol. some of the better frauds do, but aalyiah's limitations were obvious on wax b.

Rihanna is not an r&b artist.

Your kind of like the Skip Bayless of the Coli....

Don't take that as an insult by the way I don't mean that as an insult. To paraphrase Steven A Smith....."I have never doubted Skip Bayless facts....his facts area always right....". The rest of his statement I forgot lol but he was basically saying Skip is never TECHNICALLY wrong he just criticizes his intentions.

But anyway everything said about Aaliyah is probably right but you don't think your doing overkill now man?

You said you actually like Aaliyah, and I know someone like yourself as much as you admire Beyoncé's talent do not have an album by her.....am I right? :comeon:

Personally, I prefer Aaliyah's music.

Beyonce is just too fukking plastic some times.Beyonce is glam while Aaliyah's music comes off down to earth..sexy..cool.

Beyonce is a better vocalist, though. And I say that believing Beyonce is a overrated vocalist. She probably wouldn't even make the top 10 of the last 20 years...maybe not even top 15.She's not even fukking with Tracey Spencer, let alone Deborah Cox.

Bey is a manufactured/watered down female version of Michael Jackson.

You ain't chilling with your crew, relaxing, sipping that erk & jerk, and playing dominoes with no Beyonce in the background....Mary J Blige maybe, but not Bey.

yep you got that right

chrisette Michele
emeli sande
monica
tracey spencer
Deborah cox

just a handful of some better than her

she is letting the hype get to her head and this is exactly why her and Jay make such a good match....not a true artist and just takes ideas froom other artists and hides behind it being her "inspiration" where these ideas come from

If someone wanted to say Aaliyah's music is "better" then Beyonce I could see that argument but how much credit can we really give Aaliyah for that?

I mean she didn't write(Missy/Kelly),didnt make her beats(Tim), nor was she a good singer.

how am I going into overkill by simply responding to crazy accusations? im just not the one to sit back with my arms folded and watch history being re-written. that's all.

I don't care about beyonce. but comparing aaliyah to her is just ridiculous revisionist ish. and im just not for it.

Your on some revisionist ish yourself you forget that Aaliyah was only 22 at the time her life and career were cut short; whereas Beyonce's solo career was just getting started at that age. Few artist's/entertainers/singers reach their peak at 22 Aaliyah had a lot scope to get even better. Beyonce has got better in terms of vocal and stage performance since her early 20s.

What Brandy, Monica and Aaliyah achieved in their mid teens was remarkable when think about it today they made great music that has stood test of time. That kind of young talent is not really around mainstream R&B nowadays. And don't forget for all her talents Beyonce just wasn't ready come out on her own at 15-16 like the other three were she needed kelly & co and when she did finally drop solo she had such a huge machine behind her she really couldn't fail.

you claim im on some revisionist chit but you posted no examples of me being revisionist whatsoever. youre just repeating what I say because I called your post revisionist.

aalyiah being 22 is nether here nor there actually. if she couldn't sing or dance by 22, then what the f*ck? beyonce got better since her early 20s because she actually had that talent.

and beyonce was bigger than her before she died. later for all this solo chit. yall act like those destinys child albums weren't glorified solos.
